Sulaiman al-Barouni ((アラビア語:سليمان باشا الباروني), ''Sulīmān Bāsā al-Bārūnī'', Amazigh ⵙⵍⵉⵎⴰⵏ ⴱⴰⵛⴰ ⴰⴱⴰⵔⵓⵏⵉ, ''Sliman Baca Abaruni'') (1872–1940) was ruler (wāli) of Tripolitania and one of the leaders of the resistance movement against the Italian military occupation of Libya from 1911 to 1916. He was also the leader and co-cofounder of the Tripoli republic. He was a Berber, originally from the Nafusa region in western Libya. He was also a good novelist (considered in Libya as classic author) and the editor of an anti-Italian Berber nationalist newspaper.
